Stakeholder Analysis and Communication

In order to understand the social discussion about coexistence with large predators in modern Europe, it is worth looking at different perspectives. The aim of stakeholder analysis is to identify which groups of people are directly or indirectly affected by coexistence with predators. The aim of the analysis is not to satisfy all stakeholders, but to become aware of different perspectives, to propose common solutions and to find compromises that lead to improvement.

Dialogues between interest groups should be appreciative and constructive. Listening is the first step in understanding each other's concerns and needs. But you do not have to agree with all statements. Scientific independent studies that give a clear picture of the facts are important. The professional presentation of all available information and the emphasis on legal requirements are crucial in order to gain the trust of the various interest groups.

It is important that information is conveyed to specific interest groups in a targeted manner – ideally, information from the interest group itself is passed on. So-called innovators and "early adopters" can play an important role here. They are particularly quick to adopt innovations, e.g. new protective measures, forgive initial difficulties and are open to change. They have great potential to convince their own social group.
